Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I am just dipping my toe into this list.
My Birchall ancestors have proved to be in Warrington/Salford in Lancashire, but my gt gt grandfather William Birchall, is shown on the 1861 and 1871 censuses as being from "Yorkshire, Hull"
From the ages shown, his birth date would be about 1832.
One promising image I found of an 1841 census entry (HO 107 / 1231 / 4 - Fawcitt Street, Holy Trinity) shows
Hannah Burchell/9/ /'y'
William Burchell/11/ /'y'
I'm not familiar as yet with any resources for this area, so any tips would be welcome.
I'm Michael Lewis, owner of the eng-east-yorks Rootsweb email list.
As you are no doubt aware, Rootsweb (aka Ancestry) is slowly, very,
very slowly, reviving its emails lists and other services that were
discontinued more than a year ago.
I'm testing England East Yorkshire list to see if its functions
have been restored. I'll post a message on the list when i determine the
extent of its restoration.
