I just saw your message to Paul T. and had to tell you that I am a
of Doc Martin, although I don't watch Poldark. The location used as
the fictitious Port Wenn in Doc Martin is actually Port Isaac,
situated on the upper northern coast of Cornwall, above the Camel
Estuary. I've been there with my cousins several times and can tell
you that it is just as charming as it looks on the TV show. See:

It is so very funny.
Poldack is also filmed in Cornwall. It is in an area on the
great cliffs and they film a lot in tin a mine also on the water.. In
the show, they mention going into Truro on business. I assume it is
being filmed near there.
