I thought it time to ask about a North Wales interest of mine that wandered.
Roger LESTER came to the Great Orme about 1782 to help re-open the copper
He was already married to Elizabeth someone.
Later generations apparently took over the transport of the ore to the
smelters - Swansea was one destination. I am told the family still had a
transport business in Llandudno in the 1930s.
His grandson, also Roger, was in Carmarthen in 1881. He was "Tinplate
Manufactor Employing 215 Incl Men Women & Boys" according to the index.
