This is my second note asking for help on my Welsh ancestors. This branch has
the usual problems associated with common surnames and popular christian
My grandmother was Mary THOMAS, who married George BEVAN in Neath 4 Jun 1904.
She was born in 1883, and in the 1881 census her parents, James and Mary
THOMAS (Nee JONES) were living in Yet Fawr, Penbryn, Cardigan. If I have the
right James THOMAS and Mary JONES, they were married at Glynarthen Chapel,
Penbryn, 15 Nov 1877. Their fathers were Thomas THOMAS, Ag Lab and John JONES
Ag. Lab. At the time of their marriage they were living at Pensarnddu ganol
and Parkau respectively (Both in Bettws Evan).
Here the trail goes cold. There are so many Thomas THOMASes and John JONES in
the area that I have found it impossible to back further. Any help would be
greatly appreciated, and as I said in my last note, I am more than happy to do
any lookups using the resources in London.
