The Thomas Davies to whom you and Julie were referring is not my
ancestor. He was born in 1824 but this is unconfirmed. I have his
birth ranging from 1821 to 1826 with the 1824 the sole seemingly
I have no idea - nor does any other relatives whom I've uncovered - of
how or when he got to Upper Canada, now Ontario. All I know for sure
is that he married Alice Blackburn in Wallaceburg in 1852 in the then
Wesleyan Methodist Church there. Alice was of Irish extraction and
of a United Empire Loyalist family that emigrated to Pennsylvania
before fleeing to Upper Canada as result of the American Revolution.
My favour is: please see if your Calvinist book might just happen to
include a man of this name and age or thereabouts.
