I'm getting curious about the Pelican Inn or Pub in Pembroke and
wondered if anyone knew anything about it. I can't find it on the
genuki's transcription of the 1830 Pigot's Directory, but it is listed
on the 1835 and the 1844 directories (mentioned in "Pembroke's People"
and copied on the http://www.historicaldirectories.org/
these latter two, it's being run by my 5x great grandfather George
Rowlands, a former shoemaker who died in 1848. On his death, the pub
was taken over by his son, also George Rowlands.
Does anyone know where it was/is? Who owned it next?
