Hi again Brenda!
I should have mentioned brfore that if your Benjamin DAVIES was a miner, he
probably worked in our village, Goginan which, as I said is 2 miles from
(Capel) Bangor. I am now sitting in what was the old "mine captain's"
which overlooks the site of the former silver/lead mine. You probably need
to check the 1771 census to confirm this.

Can anyone help please? I've just received a copy certificate
for the marriage of Benjamin Davies to Ann Jones 1869 in the Parish
Bangor, in the district of Aberystwyth, Cardiganshire.
Benjamin Davies was a Miner age 21 and his residence at the time of
is noted as TAM Y BANC - his father Charles Davies - Miner
Ann Jones age 20 residence noted as NEW CROSS - father Evan Jones - Miner
I have searched fruitlessly for these two places, can anyone give me
information on them? is the spelling correct? I am at a loss!
In the 1881, 1891 and 1901 census records, Benjamin gives his place of
as Llangrannog - he would be born 1847/1848.
The IGI gives only one Benjamin born to a Charles Davies - in 1847 at
Llangrannog, but this Charles is a Farm Bailiff at Wervil Brook,
at that time.. .. I wonder if he gave up farming and was a miner by
Can anyone do a look up for me to check for the birth of another Benjamin
1847/1848 in the Llangrannog area with a father Charles?
Any information or advice on any of the above would be very much
