I'm still trying to confirm the wherabouts of orphaned John Williams, aged 5
to 6 years, who would have been living with a family who possibly belonged to
him, but not necessarily with the same surname.
In all subsequent censuses, he states he was born at Llanfyrnach, Pembs, in
1834/5. I found him (I think) as a 16 year-old live-in farm labourer on the
1851 census at Glynblewog Farm, Llanwinio, Carms.
I can not find his birth, and have no true idea where he was really born, nor
his mother's name (but he named his own only daughter Mary - a clue?). I
understand that his father, who became a blacksmith, and also named John
Williams, lived in the Llanboidy Parish, and that both parents died young.
Any guidance to help me find out more about our John Williams would be very
much appreciated. Would there be copies for sale of the fiche of the censuses
for the above area?
