I am interested in seeing the reference to your Lewis family as the first names turn up
among my ancestors. I am researching my Lewis ancestors who originated in Llanafan Fawr,
Breconshire. My 5 x great grandfather was Morgan ap Simon ap Lewis ap John and children
of his generation took either the fixed surname of Lewis or Simon. I am descended from
his son David Lewis who was born in 1745 and had brothers Simon, Morgan, Rees, Lewis and
I know that in 1829 Rees and William Lewis the sons of Rees Lewis and grandsons of Simon
were living in Dowlais at the house of their uncle Morgan Lewis and were tried at
Glamorgan for sheep stealing. They were found guilty and Transported to Australia.
Rees Lewis father of Rees and William was hanged at Brecon in 1826. Nearly forty years
earlier Lewis Lewis the son of Morgan was also hanged at Brecon and so was his son Lewis.
The first names in you family occur throughout mine in several generations. I think the
numbers you refer to are the different generations and if that is so perhaps you can sort
