Has anyone ever come across LAWFORD as a first name or surname in
Pembrokeshire or Carmarthenshire in the early 1800s?
The reason I'm asking is that my Pembrokeshire born gg grandfather born
about 1835 has Lawford as a first name and I'm puzzled as to where it came
from. His mother's maiden name was WILLIAM and his siblings have 'ordinary'
names - John, James, William etc. Was there someone famous around this time
called Lawford - first or last name?
Does anyone have any clues?
