was born 16 September 1822 in Llandovery, Carmarthenshire Wales.
Davids parents were Joseph LEWIS and Mary MORGAN (MORGANS)
Can someone explain to me what the numbers mean. On the sheet I have they
small numbers placed after the last letter. Since I know Joseph was
his father of what kin might the others be that are listed.
I am not having much luck finding anything on David. I know that he
Elizabeth Roberts in 1845 in Dowalis. They had 8 children, five
of them born in Wales, then two more born in the states.
David had brothers......Morgan LEWIS & John LEWIS that had been in
PA since about 1854. David and his family came to the states in
David & wife joined with the Mormans and David was president of the Morman
branch at Glen Neath. When asked to preach about polygamy he replied he
could not teach what the law condemned and left the church.
He had one son William LEWIS born 23 Nov 1847 in Rhymney. In 1856 after
in Ohio was baptized a member of the Reorganized Chursch of Jesus
Christ of Latter Day Saints and served as a missionary in Wales in 1901 and
