I suggest that 'Morfa Borth' is 'Borth Bog' (as we used to call it, but
better perhaps as 'Borth sea-marsh')
'Cyfoeth y Brenin' is the 'King's treasure', oddly enough, simply the
of the 'township' covering the Borth area. I had ancestors born there too.
The location? I suggest Borth! (Or 'Y Borth', if you wish to be correct)
This should largely be clear from the GENUKI site:
Or thereabouts ...
Good morning, list
Can SKS please tell me the meaning of the following, which appears on two
birth certificates from the 1860's that I have just obtained:
Morfarborth Cyforthybrenin (the area is of course Borth, Aberystwyth, but
what about the rest of it?)
Will it help me pinpoint the actual location of the births?
