My direct male ancestry is JONES from Llanrhystud but I have a feeling
there is no connection. My 2x great grandfather was Evan JONES who married
Letitia VAUGHAN in June 1825. I believe he was originally from Llanarth
based on the census returns; Letitia was from Llanrhystud. I have found
their gravestones at Llanrhystud Parish Church. That's about all I know.
I'll be happy to share more off line if you think it would be useful.

Some years ago I posted a query to the list (copied below) on the assumption
that my JONES ancestors were born in Llangwyryfon but other recent work has
thrown some doubt on that supposition, and Thomas Henry JONES may now have
been born in Llanrhystud. Do any other list members have connections in this

I'm researching my Jones ancestry which starts with Thomas Henry Jones, b.
Llangwyryfon 1858. He was the son of William Jones and had a much older
brother also called William b. about 1841.
Thomas Henry moved eastwards and married Mary Jane Moore, from Blaina,
Monmouthshire, in 1886, and I have their families all on file.
However I do need help with the Llangwyryfon connections and I'm keen to
avoid the long trip to the county archives in Aberystwyth if SKS on this
list can offer any help!
