Dear Achwr, Bettye & List,
Apologies for my delay in replying, I became ill with Tonsillitis and Flu
and have been in bed for 4 days, so have not felt up to using computer.
I have checked the Will via the NLW this morning and it seems that you are
correct, I had misread the contents of the Will regarding James LLOYD the son
being recorded as a Surgeon. I do have a reference to a son being a Surgeon, but
have now realised, thank you Achwr, that it was the Son in law David Paulett Williams.
As soon as I feel able to continue, I will get back to you all on this one.
Thank you for your time and patience,
Kindest Regards,
Carol LLOYD.

Carol,
I had a quick look at the Will of James Lloyd, Surgeon on the NLW Website.
The scan of the first page of the Will appears to be cropped, but from what I can see
there is no reference to James Lloyd, Son as a Surgeon.
He does refer to his Brother in Law, David Paulett Williams as a Surgeon.
Can I suggest you transcribe the Will, as it is easy to skip over a few words when reading
an original document.
You mention that there were 2 James Lloyds Baptised. I would suggest, that unless James
Lloyd, Surgeon was twice married, the first died before the second was baptised.
There is (subject to the Caveat about cropping on the NLW Wills Website) only one James
Lloyd named in the Will, otherwise there would be something to distinguish between them.
To operate as a Surgeon required a certain degree of Education and Intelligence, and
someone of this standing would not write a Will that was a Godsend to avaricious
Attorneys.
If you do decide to transcribe the Will you are welcome to send me a copy.
I will correct any errors in transcription and attempt to decipher any words you cannot
make out.
Achwr

Dear Carol,
You can take your choice between my suggestions Crun, Crunn
and..possibly...Crymes,...A John Crymes 1788 at Steynton married Mary
Andrews and an Amos Crymes, Clerk of Stainton (spelling in record) married
Mary Anne Falconer at St. Thomas Haverfordwest in 1827. Rev. Amos left a
1,500 pounds Will in 1856 and apparently had daughters Emlin born 1828 and
Mary Anne born 1821..both at H/west and there are bonds for these names on
The Nat. Library Wills site. Emlin was the wife of Anthony Stokes of
St.Botolphs and her unmarried sister Mary Anne Crymes aged 60 was living
with them at the time of the 1881 census..they also had a brother John
mentioned in Amos' Will. It is hard to reconcile an 1821 birth with an
1827 Minister's marriage unless he also was married earlier, but if so I
don't have a record for it. Other Crymes apparently from the 1881 census
were born at St. Ishmaels.
There are Crunns living in Narberth earlier, but I could not find the Crymes
names there in the marriage records.
I have never heard of Llanyndra as a Pemb. place name...could it be Llanwnda
perhaps? If you can locate where she was living, then you might find Anne's
death. I noted that she was only 16 years older than her son-in-law, so if
she was Sarah Griffiths' mother she would possibly have been married at c.
20, and her daughter married at about 20, give-or-take and Anne may have
been married in Cardigan. Depending on when she married, you may find
Anne's marriage or earlier census record if you look at the surnames I
suggest.
Hopefully,
Bettye Kirkwood, Australia.
