There has been a lot of interest in the name Levi/Levy of late. I have recently been
searching for records of Jewish Congregations in Pembrokeshire & Glamorgan. Perhaps
if you can’t find an ancestor, you might find this of some help.

Letter from Henry Micholls Jones, 1 Nelson Place, Swansea, refers to a statement that Mr
Davidson had been elected a Guardian for the city of Chester and it was presumed that he
was the first Jew to have been so honoured in that city. Jones writes that he was a
resident for 17 years and was a member of the Board of Guardians for three years 1834-6
and was also elected a member of the House Committee

Moses Pisar of Commercial Row, Pembroke Dock, formerly of High Street Swansea and of
Briton Ferry, 'Pawnbroker, Outfitter, Shoe Dealer, General Draper, Auctioneer, and

Examination to be held on 26 April.
