I am really confused about census entries for places of birth for 3 families in Pembs 1851
census. Each family is stated to be British subjects under place of birth. However they
are all to be found in 1841 and 1861 censuses Pembs and places of birth are Pembrokeshire.
They are as follows:-
Henry's Moat Parish 1851 Census:
David Evans aged 81 years. Occupation: Schoolmaster and Cattle Farmer: Place of Birth
British subject. (this also applies to the rest of his family in his household)
Next door farm to David Evans:-
David James Farmer aged 54 years Place of Birth: British subject as are all the rest
of his household.
No one else in Henry's Moat have places of birth as British subjects
Narberth south Parish 1851 Census:
The name of the small farm is Blackheath near Molleston Templeton
Sarah Evans Head aged 85 years Farmer 12 acres Place of Birth British Subject as are all
the rest of her household.
The above and family are to be found in Narberth South in 1841 census and 1861 census
No one else in Narberth South have places of birth as British Subjects.
Do you think that they had emigrated betwween 1841 census and 1851 census and had returned
to the same parishes in Pembrokeshire?
I should be grateful for your views as I have ancestors from Pembs who have disappeared
from UK for 30 years but re-appear in Pembs.1871 census
