Some of you will know of the charity which Madam Bevan ran in support of the Welsh
After her death in 1779 her niece and nephew tried to prevent her bequests being used to
support these schools. This resulted in a very long Chancery case which found in favour of
her charitable bequests.
At her death she lived in a 27 roomed house at Laugharne. I wondered if this house still
stands, or if its site is known.
Is there a memorial to her at Laugharne?
