Can somebody with some local knowledge, kindly advise:
1. If the Steynton Parish Church (from c1820's), is still standing today? If so, is
there likely to be a graveyard attached?
2. Is it possible that the Front Street of Milford could be somewhat similiar to the way
it was in c1841, and do gardens still adjoin it at the back?
I have located 'our' PROSSER family in an LDS reel - 1841 Census for Milford -
and thier abode was described as "at the back of the Front Street of Milford",
or specifically in one of "the houses at the back of the gardens adjoining the
same" (ie Front St, Milford). From thier position in the Census, I am speculating
that they resided in the second last house, at the back of the gardens (if they still
exist), which adjoined Front Street.
I have also found (through LDS reels) that:
William PROSSER was buried Steynton, 23 Dec 1857.
Mary PROSSER (nee Landry) was buried Steynton, 11 August 1850.
A family member, who will be in England / Wales later in July, has kindly offered to take
photos etc for me, (if he gets to Milford), and if the Steynton church still stands and
any Prosser or Landry headstones etc can be located there.
Thank you and regards
