In that period 23 miners are listed as being resident in the village, many
described as lodgers/borders.
Five came from Cornwall having names such as Treloer, Odgers, Johns, Boundy
Most born in adjacent parishes, in particular Cilycwm and had probably been
lead miners at Rhandir-Mwyn.
As a result of this mining activity, 2 of the grocers in Myddfai village
were licensed to sell explosives.
