I must say I was confused by your message. When did Daniel Davies marry his
Frances? If you purchased their marriage certificate you would get her
pre-marriage name and her father's name.
I used a bit of lateral thinking.....looked on the 1881 census CD ...
Manordeifi......and whilst I found a lot of people were born there, nobody
was shown as still living there.....then I got the bright idea to try
Manerdivy and found lots of folks. I scrolled through Neighbours until I
found a farm name similar to the one for which you are searching.
At Gdlanddegwm, Manerdivy, Pembrokeshire in 1881 lived Benjamin Griffiths
aged 35, born Mount, Cardigan, and his wife Jane aged 38 born Llangoedmore,
Cards. Their children shown are Hannah 7, Owen 5, Rachel 3 and John 1.
Benjamin was a General Labourer.
I also looked for any single Frances at Manerdivy (Manordeify) and found a
17 year old Frances Lewis, daughter of Blacksmith David Lewis at Caregwen,
and 2 year old Frances Rees daughter of Ag. Lab. David Rees at Posty.
I don't know if any of this will help.

Subject: [Dyfed] Address search
How might I carry out a search for the occupants of a smallholding in
Parish? Anyone got any ideas?
I am searching for my GGGrandmother Frances' ?? parents. Frances married
GGrandfather Daniel DAVIES in Cilfowyr Chapel. Although living in
Cardigan after marriage, they may have remained members of Cilfowyr Chapel
because there is a couple with the same names on the 1897 members' list. It
is possible that the person writing the list didn't know their Cardigan
address and put them down as of Idlanddegwm, a smallholding a mile down the
road from Cilfowyr to Boncath. It is situated very close to Penrallt-llyn,
which I presume is another farm.
I have searched on the 1891 Census and found them living as man and wife
Cardigan, and then in 1901 Daniel is living at the same address in
Cardigan but is widowed. Do I need the Piece and Folio numbers in order to
search the area concerned? And if so, how might I get those?
I am particularly interested in the 1871 Census because at that time
possibly have been living at home.
Any help would be appreciated.
