On the Pemb. map Dale and Marloes join........a David Phillips on 09/07/1829
married Martha Phillips at Marloes. They might possibly be parents of your
David Phillips. Before 1837 there are no marriage certificates, but the
parish register entry could be obtained from Haverfordwest Records Office.
They may also be able to tell you if this couple had a son baptised at an
appropriate time. The parish register entries do not show parents' names,
but sometimes the names of the witnesses are helpful.
However, the 1857 marriage certificate should provide both David Phillips
and Hannah Raymond's fathers' names, occupations and probably addresses.
That would be your most accurate avenue for research.
Where do your Hitchcocks come from? Mine originated in Leicestershire and
came to Australia via Wales.

According to the 1881 census David, Hannah, and Martha lived at Mellaston
Cottage, Monkton, it appears they spent all their married life in the
I would appreciate any information
During July my wife had the pleasure of staying for five days in Pemboke
and visited the places I have previously mentioned,
The day before we left Pemboke I was told about the records office at
Haverfordwest, we spent the morning there, the staff were extremely
and helpful, the morning was a huge success because we looked at the
census and found the two sons William and James that I didn't know
