Hi, I have just joined the Dyfed list in the hope of getting some
information for a friend.
Her great grandfather, Owen Purcell Phillips, was born at Saundersfoot c.
1856, son of Thomas Phillips and Eliza Morris
who were married in the Narberth Registration District in the March Quarter,
By 1861 Eliza was a widow, living at Coalpit (or Coppitt) Hall, St Issells,
with her children .
I am hoping there is someone on the list who has access to the 1841 Census
for St Issells who can look up Thomas
Phillips, he may have been living with his parents at that time. I do not
know his father's name yet but I know
his mother's name was Susannah, born about 1786 St Issells (the
grandchildren were living with her in 1871).
Also, if someone can find Eliza Morris (born about 1818, St Issells), I'd be
As I am new to research in Pembrokeshire, if anyone has any advice for me
about any on-line resources, I'd
be very grateful.
