I compared your admixture with mine, using the Eurogenes EU test V2 K15 as
an example ( the others will probably show something similar). We are both
predominantly North Sea, Atlantic, Baltic and East European. But the
groups that might be described as Mediterranean and Middle Eastern, namely
West Med, East Med, West Asian and Red Sea, make up about 17% of your
admixture, whereas for me it's 7%. (I am broadly 1/2 Welsh and 1/2
Estonian). I think that this suggests that there is something
Mediterranean in your heritage, though it's probably difficult to be more
specific about it.

Check the close matches on GEDMatch and contact a few of the people.
There are EMail addresses so easier to contact on Ancestry DNA.
Like all genealogy contacts, explain why you are contacting them and give
a brief summary of your family history. All too often you get a message
with no information.
Once you identify a few of the people on GEDMatch then you can start
getting an idea which part of the tree that others might be related to and
which they are not related to. I have a notebook with some of the kit
numbers listed and who they are.
I check GEDMatch periodically and look at new entries (they are in a
different colour) near the top of the list so closest.

Subject: [GLA] dna testing
I lately asked a question about the results of my heritage DNA test, which
came out 20% Greek, for which my previous research cannot account. I had
many kind and helpful answers, some of which advised me to upload the raw
data to Gedmatch. I think I have now done this. Initially, I only want to
check my results for origins, i.e the Greek bit. I am at a loss to
understand which bit of the GEdmatch site to go to for this, and which
options to choose? Could any one help? (Although I may have to wait a while
for this?). Cathryn
