Hi Cherie Lynn
According to the IGI the marriage took place in Llanfihangel Aberbythych
parish so I guess the curate of Llanarthney, the next door parish, was
standing in for the Llanfihangel Aber vicar.
Lletty-mawr and Brynbach look OK as house/farm names, Bryngwy*ne* could be
Managery is presumably Menagerie, as in Menagerie Wood/Cottage on the
old-maps site, just above and to the right of Golden Grove mansion itself.
Oddly, there is a Letty-Mary(?) nearby too.

Subject: [DYFED] help with locations CMN, place, name spell from Marriage,
Dear List: We have the marriage of William Jones, Bachelor and
Thomas, Spinster 09 May 1834, both of the Parish of Llanfihangel
also says by consent of Parents but no names. It says married in "this"
church by Banns; By me ??? Herdi? Williams, Curate of Llanarthney.
What church would this mean?
It also lists two witnesses... in the presence of... can someone help with
the spelling of these and does the last word after each name denote a
a title or one of each?
Stephen Griffiths Bryngwy*ne*
William Samuel Managery
from Elizabeth's Baptism 10 June 1810 listed as daughter John Thomas of
from William's possibly baptism 09 Sep 1810 as son of William John of
Is there a place to look up these houses and are they spelled right?
My offer still stand to search for anyone in the Parish records of
Llanfihangel Aberbythych we have the microfilm on permanent loan.
Thank you, Cherie Lynn
