We have the marriage of William Jones, Bachelor and Elizabeth Thomas,
Spinster 09 May 1834, both of the Parish of Llanfihangel Aberbythych. It
also says by consent of Parents but no names. It says married in "this"
church by Banns; By me ??? Herdi? Williams, Curate of Llanarthney. What
church would this mean?
The answer depends on from which parish registers (or bishops transcripts)
you extracted the marriage record.
Assuming you extracted the record from the Llanfihangel Aberbythych parish
registers (or bishop's transcripts), "this church" means the parish church
of Llanfihangel Aberbythych. The name Llanfihangel tells us that the church
is dedicated to St Mihangel (equivalent to St Michael).
