Have just joined and wonder if anyone could help.
I'm pretty sure that the above JOSEPH is the coal miner for which I have been looking
for some time. His father WILLIAM was born in Llangefelach, Swansea. I think that
MARY's (born 1837 in Llandebie) parents were THOMAS AND ANNE DAVIES and that
Anne's possible maiden name was HENKIN. I have found a large list of children on the
IGI all born to a Thomas and Anne and think that, in fact, there were two Thomas and Anne
marriages at similar times producing children! I wonder if anyone has access to the 1841
and 1851 census which would give me a family group? I would be so grateful. I hope
I'm not going to be too 'needy' now that I have located JOSEPH. Of course, if
anyone has any information on this family that would be wonderful. As it seems that
Joseph's siblings disappear off the face of the earth after the 1881 census - I have a
suspician that they may have emigrated to Scranton Pensylvannia, as indeed Joseph (if this
is indeed the correct one) did for a short time !
- he returned to his wife and is on the 1901 census.
Thanks in anticipation, Oh by the way, on Joseph's birth certificate of January 1862,
the address given is ABERLASH, Llandebie and the informant of the birth is ANNE of the
same address. On the 1861 census, William and Anne are newly married it seems with a baby
girl also called Anne. I have located a widowed Anne Davies on the 1861 living with two
single children Jane and William, and have followed the two children through to the 1881
census. However, I found a great many more children on the IGI.
Any information very gratefully accepted,
