I realise I have probably asked this before, but just in case sks has a quick fix!!!!
My 3 times great grandfather was a 'corporal in the army' according to his
children's marriage certificates.
I would dearly love to discover more about his army career but I'm at a brickwall
unless I discover his regiment.
He was THOMAS HAVARD and was baptised in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire
on 11th October 1772.
He married ELIZABETH REES in Haverfordwest on 28th February 1807.
His children were christened in Haverfordwest in 1810 and 3 on 27th
He died in Haverfordwest in 1817.
I have a copy of a book - somewhere - about the Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire Militia,
but according to it he could have been in either and both militia were made up of umpteen
smaller 'regiments', for want of a better description.
Anyone any ideas?
Also does anyone has any links to his wife Elizabeth - she died in 1840 (I have her will)
in Barn Street, Haverfordwest at the age of '60'? As she left a will, I wonder if
she inherited a bob or two because when her husband died she and her children appeared
