In 1873 Thomas Rees from Laugharne went on a "City Break" to London. He left a
diary of the places he visited. He visited his half first cousin Martha Murrell (my Gt Gt
grandmother, who he mentions by name.
But he also went to 49 Thistle Grove. This was lived in by James Thomas aged 50, a linen
draper born in Laugharne.
The 1835 Pigot's Directory has Stephen Thomas, draper of Laugharne - James'
Can anybody help me with any further information about him? His children's places of
birth show that in 1850 he was in Clapham, then moved to St Helens in Surrey before moving
to Kensington sometime before 1860 when his youngest daughter Gwenllean was born.
