Have noted that this couple married at Nash With Upton on 15/08/1819, John
Lewis being of Cosheston. Do you have a copy of the parish register entry
....to ascertain the names of witnesses?
Here is a list of male Lewises who married at Cosheston (possible father or
ancestors of John):
Joseph 1791 (and another Joseph m. at Nash in 1810)
Joseph or James seem the most likely candidates for his father, but of
course, it is only an assumption that his parents married at the same place
as he lived when married.
Similarly, the Rees males who married at Monkton:
John 1760, 1764
Thomas 1749/50, 1771,
William 1752, 1760, 1789, 1795, 1807
From this, William 1789 seems most likely, but of course you will realise
that Anne Rees's parents may have married in another of the surrounding
This is aimed at being a starting point for you....unfortunately my records
do not show the names of the brides, but others have more pertinent records
You may get a lead to the possible father/s through the first names John and
Ann gave to their offspring.
Cosheston is slightly above and to the right of Monkton on my Pembrokeshire
map.....just a couple of miles apart I'd guess.
