In the 1851 census for Abergwawr, Aberdare, my gg grandfather Richard HENTON
(aged 27) is listed as a visitor, presumably visiting Harriet DAVIES, a House
Servant, whom he marries later in the year. His birthplace is given as
Newmarket, followed by what looks like Carmarthenshire (abbreviated), and has
been transcribed as such by Ancestry. Does anyone know of a Newmarket in
Carmarthenshire? I cannot find him in the 1841 census and he is not in the 1861
census as he died in 1860.
The 1851 census reference is HO107, Piece 2460, Folio 290, pages 32 and 33.
Any help would be appreciated.
