You have my heartfelt sympathy over the lack of broadband where you live.
I cannot now imagine going back to the 'dark ages' of dial-up.
Probably the equivalent of now having to abandon Windows XP and revert to
whatever version of Windows preceded W95, say.
With my Genuki hat on, I now feel rather guilty since I have increasingly
found myself abandoning a previous constraint of limiting web-page sizes to
c100kb - for example, I'm just finishing off some census transcriptions on
Gla where I've created pages of 400kb+.
Oh dear, they would take you what would seem like half a day to load on
dial-up I fear.
