There are many people in my tree who sort of alternate names, Rhoda
Caroline became Caroline and then Roda and then... if you get my
meaning. Mary Ann Ponting became only Mary at times. I also have, and
I am sure many do, sisters marrying the same man.

I am puzzled about John Oliver of Dinas who had a daughter Mary
christened Dinas in 1795 and the mother was a Mary. However a recently published book on
Tabor Chapel Dinas states that John Oliver Dinas married Anne Howells of Penymynydd
Llanllawer. and the above daughter Mary was born to them .Mary was my g.g.. grandmother
who married John Morris of Dinas in 1818, at Dinas Church.. I have never found the
marriage of John and Mary Oliver but have found the christening of Mary to them at Dinas
Church. Can there be some mistake in the book? or is in fact Mary the daughter of John
Oliver and Anne Howells?
