I recently discovered this list and wondered if anyone here might have
run across the Cornog (Cornock) family in their research. According to
the book "The Quest for Peace" by Croft&Croft, they emigrated from Wales
in 1726 looking for a "better life" and due to religious persecution.
The Crofts note that they came from Rhydwillim in Pembrokeshire but from
my reading so far, it appears that Rhydwillim was only a church and not
a village. When they originally came to Pennsylvania, they joined the
Montgomery Baptist Church but in 1730 moved their membership to the
Baptist Church of the Great Valley in Chester County which is where many
of them are buried.
Any suggestions about how I might find records for them back in Wales
would be greatly appreciated.
