The 1871 census does describe them all as having been born in Bettws. But
on trying to find them in 1881, there is only a possible sighting for
Margaret - as a 13 year servant - using this place of birth. Possibly only
Mary Ann was born in Bettws and it was assumed that the other children
(assuming they were siblings) were as well. By 1881 Mary Ann may have been
married - do you know if that is the case?
As their mother doesn't appear to be enumerated at the workhouse in 1871, I
wonder if she died after William's birth?
