I've only had a quick look in the Marriages index and did not go back too
far, but William James, father of the 1829 born William James might be
William James of Hubberston who married Mary Saunders at Steynton 04/10/1829
Thomas Thomas could be the person of that name who married Anne James at St.
Davids 09/02/830 or the Thomas Thomas who married Anne Lewis 01/03/1823 at
You would need to have the parish registers checked to possibly find
Bettye Kirkwood, Australia.

I have run up against a stone wall trying to find BMD information on the
James side of my family. Census and BMD information obtained shows the
family moving somewhat frequently between St. Davids and Glamorgan (Porth,
Mountain Ash and Ferndale ). Both of my great, great grandparents, William
James and Sarah, formerly Thomas appear to have been born in Pembroke as
some of their children. Below, you will see the information gleaned from
census records. If there is anyone out there that know of this family, or
have access to BMD/Christening records I would really appreciate your help.
William James c1829 Steynton Pembroke. On marriage certificate father is
listed as William James a labourer.
Sarah Thomas c1831 St. David's Pembroke. On mariage certificate, father is
listed as Thomas Thomas a Farmer.
Children of William and Sarah:
David (possibly David William) c1857 Dowlais/Merthyr. This is my great
grandfather and I have all of his marriage and death information, but cannot
find a record of his birth.
Ann c1854 Dowlais/Merthyr. I have nothing other than census information on
her. Ann is shown on the 1861 census, but nothing thereafter.
Thomas c1860 Pembroke, possibly St David's. He is another that I have only
census information. Thomas is shown on all censuses through 1881 as living
with his parents. I am assuming he married, but I have not yet found the
correct marriage certificate.
William c1864 St. David's. I have found a christening record on him which
took place in St David's, but nothing else. William does not show up on any
census, so I am assuming that he was born and died inbetween the 1861 and
Anne c1868 St. David's. Anne is recorded on the 1871 census but then
vanishes. I assume she died, but I have not found a record to corroborate
Gwilym 1869 St. David's. I have found all BMD information on him.
Thanks for any help that can be provided.
