Thanks for your response.
I don't have Margaret's birth certificate, but I do have the birth
certificate of her first born son (James Parry Evans 10 Mar 1886) with
husband Evan Parry Evans. It is from there that I discovered she was
formerly 'Michael'. I understand that to be her maiden name but not
quite sure what would happen if Evans was her second husband and she
was married before???
I have since discovered that Margaret was born in 1852 and would like
help in clarifying that her parents were Daniel and Mary. I have been
given a hint that Mary's Maiden Name was 'Morris' from somebody
referring to a marriage record of Vol 27, pg 77, however, the names I
have access to, through Ancestry.co.uk, do not list Mary Morris.
Could this be a mistake? I am querying my source as to where their
information came from.

I have a Michael female in my own research....an elusive one...as a
different surname is given for her on some records...and as I do not
have the details available at present I can not ascertain if there
is likely to be a link.
However...at Bridell on May 15, 1810 a Thomas Michael, widower of
Cilgerran, married Lettice David. I can find no marriage record in
the Cilgerran records for Thomas Michael's earlier marriage unless
he was the Thomas Michael of Llangoedmore who married Mary Evan at
Oct. 17, 1764...I guess it is possible he married again 46 years
later, but rather unlikely. In 1788 (Oct. 23) a David Michael of
Llangoedmore married Elinor Gilbert and on Feb. 26. 1811 a David
Michael of Manordeifi married Mary Thomas. both marriages taking
place at Cilgerran.
I looked up the 1871 census to find that your Daniel Michael's
birthplace was said to be Bridell.......and he was 51, giving him c.
1820 as a birth date.
The only marriage after 1813 and prior to this date for a Michael
male in Pembrokeshire was John Michael who married Mary Lewis at St.
Dogmaels 20/07/1814. Prior to 1813 a John Michael married Margaret
John 1809 St. Dogmaels and a Thomas Michael married Mary Phillip in
1808. As Margaret appears to be Daniel's eldest daughter, it is
possible that she was named for Margaret John.
There are two records for marriages of Thomas Micheal in Moylgrove
in the 1790's..perhaps one of these moved to Cilgerran and became
the widower. The spelling is probably a scribal error.....I think I
have these parish register entries at home.
If Free BMD or a Lister can not provide Mary's pre-marriage
surname, I think you will have to order one of her children's birth
Bettye Kirkwood, Australia.
