I was told years ago by an archivist that the name Ludovicus [meaning
'Famous Warrior' ] appearing in a Welsh parish register meant Llewellyn,
which is often abbreviated to Lewis isn't it?
Looking on the web I see that it in France this is Louis so could Louisa be
what you need?
The meaning of the name Louisa is Famous Warrior
The origin of the name Louisa is English
Alternate spellings: Luisa
