I can't see any reference to any parish boundary changes, the Vision of
Britain site agrees - for Meline, see
Both in the hundred of Cemais, they are in fact adjoining parishes, also
with Eglwyswrw, which may be the source of confusion but I guess you can't
rule out wondering whether it's the same John Davies.
Where in the parish(es) was he born/lived prior to the Rhondda ?

My ancestor John Davies was born in Meline in 1888 and recorded as such in
