Can somebody forward me an adress for a family history society in
Camarthenshire; preferably around the Kidwelly area.
My husbands family GRAVEL(L)(LLE) are by oral tradition from Kidwelly.
left after 1800 to find work in the Eastern MON, valleys.
Any help appreciated.

Dear M. Gravell,
When I saw your message this morning (Aust. time) I realised I had seen
the name Gravell before. In "Laques and its Families" by Major Francis
Jones, the late Welsh Herald Extraordinary there is one tiny mention, but
it is way way back in time. Elen Gravell was married to Maurice Rede of
Llanstephan parish (alive in 1492) and they had an only son Hugh Reed,
described specifically as "of Lakes". There is a little more about this
family, which eventually petered out through lack of heirs
and I will type it out for you if you wish. Bettye Kirkwood.
