Have you searched for the family on the 1841 census covering Newcastle Emlyn
I imagine your nearest LDS FHcentre could order this up for you, assuming
not too many miles away of course :-)
Haven't come across such a number reversal before, what a terrible thing for
"someone" to inflict on an unsuspecting researcher ! Best to blame the clerk

Hello all, I am a new member of this list - my name is Kate Hands. My
grandmother was Esther Thomas, dau of David Thomas, farmer - she md John
Drummond (really Drumm, depending how he felt!) in Newcastle Emlyn on 6
1844. Have yet to locate a definate bp for Esther in Carmarthen. John
was in 76th Regt of Foot in Wales due to Rebecca Riots at that time.
died in 1872 in Dublin, the age on her death certificate states she
yrs of age. This is very surprising considering she had been md 28 yrs and
would have died younger than some of her children! Years of pondering over
caused me to realize that her age and house number had been reversed.
Esther was really 52 yrs old when she died, living at No 23 - not 23 yrs
old and living at No 52.
Was gt grandfather too grief stricken to get it right, drunk, or maybe the
registering clerk hard of hearing or a tad careless?
Is Esther on a family tree of anyone else?
Kate Hands, Australia.
