Nice to hear from you and thank you for trying to help me with this DAVIES
I have just spoken again to my mother who is 89 years of age with quite a good
She thinks that Matty (as she was known) did marry Glyn Orwig Watkins (as it has
been pointed out to me that he was from North Wales and a policeman too!).
So, what happened to her? Can't find a death or a will??
As for John Llewellyn Davies - my mother recalls there being a bit of scandal on
this front! My mum recalls being very young at the time and listening to her
parents talking about the shame of his behaviour in London and the fact that she
recalls him being found dead in a bath? Possibly suicide?? So, I guess he must
have died in the 1940's or early 1950's? I don't have his birth certificate
the date came from the 1939 register.
Any further thoughts? I am copying the group on this as somebody may have an
Once again, thanks for your help Pat!
Bye for now.
Best wishes, Sarah.

Do you know any more about the parents of Thomas Davies?
I have found Margaret 's family in the census but Davies is rather more
popular as a surname.
I see his says in 1911 that he was born in Bletherston just like
Margaret but I can't find a fit for that.
Meanwhile I have two comments.
1. Re John llewellyn Davies - there are three John L Davies registered
between 1913 and 1914 and another one in 1915.
The information on death registration is often slightly incorrect as it
is being given by the people left behind.
You quoted a birth date for John so do you ahve his birth certificate?
if so the info there could help.
Meanwhile I found an account of a death of a John llewellyn davies in
the Western Telegraph October 2003.
This is one of the 3 but is it yours?
The funeral took place on Friday of John Llewellyn Davies od 74 cambrian
Road neyland who died at his home
on Sunday October 5th aged 89.
Predeceased by his wife jean he spent most of his life in the navy and
the Milford Fish Docks.
he leaves to mourn his son Adrian.
If you think this is yours I'll send you the rest.
2. Re Mattie
Seeing that she married Glyn Orwig Watkins in 1944 and that he was from
North Wales and Colwyn bay area in 1988
The probate info doesn't show Mattie so possibly she died before he did.
have you checked the North wales area for her death?
That's all for now
