Many thanks .....much more than I hoped for. Yes I am sure this is the right
family as the ages fit so well. It is so easy to forget today that a 12 year old
in the 19th century had often been of working age for some years. Anyway this
should give me a platform to start researching my 'Harries/Harris' roots.
I am sure that Pat Powell has the correct family in the 1851 Census and that
Mary was probably working as a servant within the parish. There was also a
son William, aged 4 with the Thomas and Sarah HARRIS.
The 1841 Census Index lists them under HARRIES as follows
HO107/1443 Book 8 Folio 25 Page 2 Manorbier
Thomas Harries 30 Ag. Lab Not born in county
Sarah Harries 32 Born in County
