Dihewyd is a small village in Ceredigion known as Cardiganshire in the early
1900's. The school is still running with very few alterations to it so that
it is much as it would have been in 1920. I have a postcard of it dating
from about 1930. The schoolhouse is attached although no longer occupied by
the 'schoolmaster' but by an elderly lady. My grandfather was the
Schoolmaster there from 1900 to 1907 and two of his children were born there.
The Record Office, Aberystwyth, Ceredigion SY23 2DE hold the school records
which survive. However it may be that some of the older inhabitants remember
your great aunt. One of them showed me a book which my grandfather had
presented in 1906 to her mother for good behaviour.
If you wish to send me more details I will write to my contact in the village
to see if anyone remembers your family.
Glad to be of some small assistance
