The url is actually
, a very slight change on the one
Yes, I have long known of this site but don't link to it anymore form my
Help Page just because it is so out of date in many respects.
In fact there is a footnote on the site saying just that, I expect the email
address is also a casualty of an un-tended website.
You are correct to draw attention to it though, could be very misleading.
For instance even a cursory look shows that the 1891 has not yet been
released and the pre 1996 counties still exist.
I will also try and get an email through, I would suggest that the site is
taken down, surprised the FTM thought fit to recommend it
Whilst I'm on the case I'll also mail Eric Probert, FTM's, Computer Section
editor, and suggest he might try and get it sorted out given he mentioned it
in the first place.

Subject: [DYFED] Roots in Wales Website
In the Computer Section of Family Tree Magazine, April 2000 the following
website was recommended http://www.nwi.co.uk.famhist/fhinfo.htm
It is very comprehensive but the information regarding prices, addresses,
reference material etc is very out of date. As this site is aimed at US
researchers it could be very unhelpful and misleading to anyone planning a
trip to the UK. I sent an e.mail to this effect to the address on the
and received the following reply.
Hi. This is the qmail-send program at mailgate.wales.com
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't
This message is looping: it already has my Delivered-To line. (#5.4.6)
I thought your listers would like to be aware and therefore wary of the
errors on this site until someone decides to update it.
Bye for now
