I think that Rootsweb will start any List that someone is prepared to host.
The Dyfed List is perfect for the three West Wales Counties.
I subscribe to far too many Lists and some of these are a result of there
being more than one list for a particular area of the Country and I'm afraid
of missing something. E.g. I have an interest in Monmouthshire and the first
List I subscribed to covering that area was the MIDMARCH-List; then I found
I had to subscribe to the BLAENAU GWENT- List; then as if that was not
enough along comes a MONMOUTHSHIRE-List. As if that is not enough someone
has now started a List to cover the area between the River Usk and River
Wye, Monmouthshire, Wales, called WLS-USK-WYE-VALLEY-List. Well I'm leaving
that one alone!
I was about to unsubscribe from a couple of Newsletters - Rootsweb Review
and Missing Links (American based but often some very useful stuff) - when I
read of the above new River Usk and River Wye list coverage. I also picked
up a couple of interesting items, one of which was a project to transcribe
every U.K. parish register and make the transcriptions available online.
Transcriptions or partial transcriptions of five registers of parishes in
Hampshire and one in Somerset have already been done and can be found on
Picking up gems like this have made be decide not to unsub. If anyone is
interested in subscribing to either of the above mentioned Newsgroups, if
only for a spell to see what they contain) let me know and I will send you
the information to do so.
