As an addendum to my previous post, a search of some of the catalogues of collections
relating to Dyfed at the NLW, gives examples of the use of the word gent, from 1484.
In all the examples I have found before 1650 ( I did not look any further) those
individuals described as a gent can also be found in Lewys Dwnn and or the Golden Grove
books claiming descent from Tribal Patriarchs.
