I have now completed this phase of this project as far as CGN is concerned
by adding on the area and population data from 'The Religious census of 1851
: A Calendar of the returns relating to Wales, Vol 11, North Wales. Ed. by
Ieuan Gwynedd Jones, UWP, 1981'.
Can be found on each parish page under Description.
I still can't get over how small some parishes were in terms of population.
Many of *our* ancestors living in the same, or adjoining, parishes must have
known each other by name, and inter-married etc.
Even if the parish was large by area they would still have congregated
together in parish church/chapel, an important 'meeting occasion'.
It was a much 'smaller world' in 1851.
