Hi Evelyn,
I can't help you with a baptism, but there is this family in the 1871
census in Penbryn. Gwenllian looks rather too old to have a daughter 19.
RG10; Piece: 5545; Folio: 67; Page: 15 Glanrhyd, Penbryn
John James 67
Gwenllian James 67
Owen James 24
Catharine James 19
Thomas James 5
The family are still at Glanrhyd in 1861, though with the surname MOSES,
so you may have to search for a baptism of Catherine MOSES if this is
the correct family.
John Moses 56
Gwenllian Moses 55
Catharine Moses 10
RG9; Piece: 4182; Folio: 76; Page: 15 Glanrhyd, Penbryn
regards,
Dai

Hello
Wondering if anyone can help me ?
My Great Great Grandmother Catherine James married Daniel Powell in 1881 - they married
in Ystradyfodwg in the Rhondda but were both previously from Penbryn, Cardiganshire.
(Catherine was born in about 1853)
I have managed to find Daniels family, but I am stuck with regards to Catherines family -
according to the wedding certificate her father was John James and at the time was a
labourer.
I have looked for a baptism/christening record for Catherine with no success - hoping to
then find her parents names ....
Hoping that somebody can help
Thanks
Evelyn
