The marriage entry you mention comes from the Bishop's transcripts, so
unfortunately will not show any witness names who may have provided clues.
There is a Will listed for Thomas Hassall, Kilrhue, Pemb. 1814, but for
the past few days I have been unable to use The Nat. Library pre 1858
Wills site....I wonder if anyone else is having the same problem...opens
o.k., but keeps showing Error for any actual request.
In the 1813-37 Pemb. marriages a George Newco. Hassell, Gent, married
Letitia Walters of St. Thomas H/west at Haroldston St. Issell on
In Major Jones' Historic Houses book under Eastwood, one mile south of the
town of Narberth, "Home of Hassall family, land agents, built towards the
end of the 18th. century. The house was advertised for sale in 1810."
also "Charles Hassall of Eastwood died in 1814 aged 60."
Major Jones shows Cilrhiw, Lampeter Velfrey; Cilrhiwe, Llanfihangel
Penbedw; and Cilrhiwe Fach, Manordeifi....take your pick!
Bettye Kirkwood, Australia.
