I'm trying to prove that this Rebecca / Rebecka Bowen was mine!
I think the
only way I can make myself 100% sure, is to seek a copy of the original
marriage record from Haverfordwest Records Office (although this too may not
be 100% conclusive!).
At that time the father's name wasn't usually given unless the father
was a local worthy and even then not always.
You'll probably not get much more information than Gerry's already
given you other than the witnesses who may or may not help since no
relationships would have been given.
As for Mary, well although she would have been a Clarbeston girl, I
think
she must have married in a neighbouring parish?
If she was in service and working for a wealthy family with more than
one home, she could well have married from from one of them. Some
wealthy families could be quite generous to their employees when the
latter married. Or she may have married from the groom's parish
instead of hers, as was traditional. Have you been able to find Mary
and her husband in the 1851 census?
